Happy Mothering Sunday!
A day for children to pay respect to their mothers. Often by giving a
card, or gift. A day for Mothers to be pampered and with a little luck is
able to get some time to relax.
Mothering Sunday is always the middle Sunday in Lent. It was also
known as Pudding pie Sunday, Mid-Lent Sunday or Refreshment Sunday. This
was a day in lent when the fasting rules were relaxed. Mothering
Sunday is also sometimes known as Simnel Sunday because of the tradition of
baking Simnel cakes.
