Lucas first Christmas

So Lucas seemed to really enjoy his first Christmas. We all woke late which was lovely. Then went downstairs to open presents. At just 7 months (to the day) he seemed to be aware that something was going on. He enjoyed opening his presents. He wouldn't even nap he was so excited. He was extremely spoilt.

A fantastic first Christmas :-)

Although quite a big heel, can be tricky when wearing after a few glasses of wine, and a few more, at a work Christmas party!
Need I say more!

I love a bit of cheese and biscuits

Presents all ready for the boys. Can't wait to see their faces.

Lovely glass of bubbly which my husband bought for me. A great start to Christmas :-)

Twas the night

Before Christmas. Always reminds me of my Dad. He used to tell me the story every Christmas. Then when I moved out he bought me the book.

Love the card

Thomas opened his Christmas card from his uncle Ady and said "I might love this" ah.

Tell me about....

Today Thomas has been wanting to learn again.
I have had tell me about.....trees, tell me about cheese, tell me about cars, tell me about rain.

I think I need to brush up on my general knowledge.

Thomas talk

I was doing the normal nagging that mums do, "turn the TV off, finish your drink and come to bed" when he replied "stop talking to me mummy" in a mater of fact way, without even looking away from the TV! Cheeky

2 years ago this was for Thomas. Now it's for Lucas X X

Lorries

Driving today we saw some Lorries and Thomas pointed them out to me. I asked him to say - red lorry, yellow lorry, red lorry, yellow lorry.
He gave it a go "red lorry, lellow lorry"
I said he needed to keep saying it
"red lorry, lellow lorry, red lellow, oh no I can't"
I said try again.
He said "no I can't, its too hard for me"

Bless him

Thomas talk

Thomas went up to Lucas and said "you're the best little brother in the world" :-)

Mince pies

I took Thomas to a cafe today while my Mum and Lucas got used to spending time together without me there.

I promised to get Thomas a cake but the cafe didn't do cakes.  The kind man offered a mince pie.  I declined saying that Thomas had never had one and I didn't like them but he insisted that we take a mince pie each "on the house" he said.

I felt too awkward to say no, so took these mince pies.  My first ever mince pie.  I can never understand why you put raisins in pastry to eat it.  I always thought they might taste slightly burnt.  I ate the pie and was pleasantly surprised. I quite enjoyed it.

If there is a choice between chocolate cake and mince pie I would still go for the cake but I can now say that I don't mind a mince pie.

So Thomas and I had our first ever mince pies together :-)

Inquisitive minds

Today I have had lots of questions from Thomas.
"Where does apple juice come from?"
"Where does ketchup come from?"
"Where does the TV come from?"
"Where does milk come from?"
"Where does the advent calendar come from?"

Then I got.....
"Where do babies come from?"
Blimey!

I also had "tell me about cows", "tell me about food" & "tell me about cats"

Thomas talk

Phil was putting Thomas to bed tonight and they were both chatting.  Then Thomas said "I am going to go to bed now, to sleep, to give my mouth a rest"
Cute!

Hmm, not sure of that's normal. Maybe it's time to throw it away

Lucas loves these. They really help with his teething. He loves to chew on them. I remember Thomas used to too.

Lasagne

Yummy lasagne for Thomas. I wish I made us such nice food

Thank you

Such a cute thank you letter, look at the picture x

Porridge bread

Great for breakfast as Lucas prefers to feed himself. And it's less messy than normal porridge.

Porridge oats with a splash off milk to cover the oats then microwave for one minute.
Leave to cool then cut into strips.

Anyone fancy coming to clean my kitchen.
Always messy after the boys have had dinner. Groundhog day

Jingle bells

Alarm bells

Thomas has just told me that tonight he is going to wait until I am asleep then come into the bedroom and get 2 bells and ring them to wake me up. Something to look forward to.

Reindeer food

I can't wait to give this to the children for them to sprinkle on the doorstep for Santa and his reindeers on Christmas eve. So exciting and magical for children.

Lunch

Need food today

Puzzles

Thomas finished all the puzzles. Clever boy

Girls night out

Had a brilliant night at Chambers bistro in Shoreham last night for the girls Christmas party. We also went to the crown and anchor and the bridge inn.

My lovely friend Helen also treated us to a bottle of champagne :-)

The food was delicious and we had a very merry time.

Phil looked after the boys so I could go out early and also looked after them all morning too so I could relax and have a lie in. Which I definitely needed after six hours of drinking wine.
